Michael Brennan wins Wyndham Championship

The 2026 Wyndham Championship delivered an absolute masterclass in high-stakes drama at Sedgefield Country Club, functioning as the ultimate pressure cooker to close out the PGA Tour regular season. The undisputed story of the tournament belongs to Michael Brennan, who arrived in Greensboro ranked a distant 105th in the FedExCup standings. TOUR Championship (Aug. 27–30)

Location: East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia

Field Size: Final top 30 players

The Stakes: The grand finale features an enormous $40 million total purse, with the winner pocketing a staggering $10 million first-place prize alongside a five-year PGA Tour exemption. Notably, the tour features a traditional, flat stroke-play setup starting at even par—completely discarding the controversial “Starting Strokes” handicap format utilized in previous playoff eras. Additionally, there are no 36-hole cuts across any of the three playoff events.
